Hi Debbie, I looked up that song which starts like this:
When peace like a river, attends my way,
When sorrows like sea billows roll;
Whatever my lot, You have taught me to know
It is well, it is well, with my soul.
Refrain
It is well, (it is well),
With my soul, (with my soul)
It is well, it is well, with my soul.
Yes, I can see some common message between my post and this song. Basically, underneath whatever we are thinking or believing or experiencing in the moment, the consciousness (the soul) is okay. So, if we apply consciousness to the thought, the belief, emotions we are experiencing, we can actually experience this deeper state.
It is a tradition Christian song but the deeper meaning lies in the fact that we must not trust the thoughts in our heads to the detriment of our souls- that robs us of our inner peace
Love this Robert!!!
This really resounded with my soul
And it made me think of the song
“It is well with my soul”!
Listen to the words if you get a chance
Enjoy Ireland

I agree with your assessment!
