My personal thoughts are bullshit.
The quicker I can get away from wondering if I’m right, the better.
How?
Observe the thought and the pain it’s causing or just observe the pain. In other words: Bring awareness to the pain. Bring consciousness to the pain. Basically just watch it.
But that doesn’t sound like happy.
No, it’s painful at first.
Then why do it?
It eventually dissipates the pain.
It keeps me in the present.
Because what are my other choices?
Distract myself from the pain. (Cell phones are good for this.)
Allow my mind to amplify one painful thought into even more painful thoughts. (I’m trying to be right rather than seeing that the mind has become a painful thought machine.)
So what if I observe the pain? Sometimes the results are astounding. I rise to my full height. I feel at one with the world. Let’s call that happy.
