Why People Fall Short of Making us Happy
It’s very disappointing when the world doesn’t make us happy. I mean — our wives, our husbands, our children, even sometimes our friends. Although we see friends seldom enough that they usually deliver a modicum of satisfaction.
Didn’t we recruit spouses and kids and friends into our lives in order to make us happy? And oh how they often fall short of it.
And what about the milestones we reach in our careers or hobbies? Got to admit that there’s no lasting thrill in any of it.
So, we arrive at the conclusion that the world is not here to make us happy. Oh, come on — that’s too depressing to contemplate. What is there then?
Consciousness. Presence. Awareness.
What the hell is any of that?
It’s what’s behind every thought.

When we pursue our "happiness" as is our right outlined in the Declaration of Independence, the World, if our gial is Right, helps. This truth is evident in fairy tales. Cinderella wanting the happiness of attending the Ball, lifts her consciousness, making her fairy god-mother aware. Thus, she gets the ocach gown and glass slippers necessary to be happy.
